Start the new year with creativity and caffeine! This annual 31-day drawing challenge is a tradition in our community. Each day in January, we focus on sketching our coffee cups (or tea, or any favorite drinking vessel) using continuous line drawing techniques, and/or any technique of your choice, and any medium you choose. Share your sketches in our Facebook group or on Instagram with the hashtag#CoffeeSketch2025.
Wednesday, January 1, 2025 kicks off the next #CoffeeSketch2025in the #ContinuousLineDrawing group, a drawing challenge that helps build line confidence, composition abilities and drawing confidence, plus it's suuuuper fun. Whether you join us every day or pop in when you can, it’s a fun, inspiring way to kickstart your creativity in the new year.
- Have a dedicated sketchbook with at least 31 pages - Have copy paper + big pen for line warm-ups - You can draw your coffee cup or any other drinking vessel; wine cups, beer steins, glug mugs, skies the limit! - Don't spend more than 15-minutes drawing your coffee cup; put a time limit on it - It does not have to be continuous line, although it can be - Post daily in the Continuous Line Storytelling with the hashtag #CoffeeSketch2025
Meagan will be leading the challenge with livestreams, demos, drawing tips and emotional support to help you complete this drawing challenge, because a daily drawing challenge is a game changer to help catapult drawing abilities.

Who is Meagan Burns
Meagan Burns is an artist, instructor, and founder of Art Leap Adventures, a unique travel sketch workshop business that offers immersive art experiences in historical urban cities. Originally from Chicago, Meagan specializes in continuous line drawing, guiding participants to overcome their drawing fears and embrace a fluid, expressive style.
Through Art Leap Adventures, Meagan has organized workshops in dynamic destinations such as Mexico City, Oaxaca, San Miguel de Allende, San Francisco, and Paris, France, inviting artists of all levels to explore the world through their sketchbooks.
Meagan created the Continuous Line Drawing group in 2021, a thriving community designed to help artists build skill, strength, and confidence as visual storytellers. This group has connected artists from around the world, encouraging creativity and personal growth through continuous line drawing. Meagan is also one of the admins of the San Miguel de Allende Urban Sketcherschapter, where she has been contributing to the local and global sketching community since 2016.
With a diverse background in marketing, graphic design, and regenerative farming, Meagan brings a wide range of experiences to her teaching. Her workshops focus on loosening up, embracing imperfections, and finding joy in the creative process—principles that resonate with artists looking to capture the essence of place through continuous line sketching.
