Join artist and instructor Meagan Burns for a dynamic Continuous Line Drawing workshop at the San Francisco Ferry Building—an immersive, half-day experience designed for all skill levels. With years of experience leading workshops in Mexico City, Oaxaca, San Miguel de Allende, and Paris, Meagan brings her transformative continuous line practice to this iconic waterfront landmark—complete with delicious snacks from a few of the Ferry Building’s renowned vendors.
For this workshop, we’ll begin with an introduction to continuous line drawing, followed by warm-up exercises to build confidence and fluidity. Meagan will guide you through a series of timed exercises designed to help you break free from drawing anxiety, embrace your unique style, and find freedom in your expression. We'll also make a handmade sketchbook with provided watercolor paper so you have inspiration to keep your drawing practice intact. We'll enjoy local snacks from the Ferry Building and will spend some time drawing the historic property. Whether you're an experienced artist or just starting out, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills, boost confidence, and explore drawing in a fresh, expressive way. Meagan Burns is an artist, instructor, and founder of Art Leap Adventures, a travel sketch workshop company that offers immersive art experiences in historical urban cities.
Originally from Chicago, Meagan specializes in continuous line drawing, helping participants push past creative fears and develop a fluid, expressive sketching style. Through Art Leap Adventures, she has organized workshops in dynamic locations such as Mexico City, Oaxaca, San Miguel de Allende, San Francisco, and Paris, inviting artists of all levels to explore the world through their sketchbooks. In 2021, Meagan created the Continuous Line Drawing group, a thriving global community dedicated to building skill, confidence, and storytelling through drawing. She has been a key figure in the San Miguel de Allende Urban Sketchers chapter since 2016, contributing to both local and international sketching communities. With a background spanning marketing, graphic design, and regenerative farming, Meagan’s diverse experiences inform her teaching. Her workshops focus on loosening up, embracing imperfections, and finding joy in the creative process—principles that empower artists to capture the energy and essence of a place through continuous line sketching.

A basic sketchbook and two pens and a sheet of watercolor paper will be provided for workshop attendees, though you’re welcome to bring your own sketching supplies.
-When paying online through the Art Leap Adventures' invoice, a 3% USD fee will be added for all online payments; please contact Meagan directly for specific information. -Refunds will be available up until April 11, 2024, after that no refunds will be available unless you are able to fill your space with a paying participant.
