Let’s keep drawing people, places, and things to stay sane, grounded, and creatively awake. Each day in May, we’ll focus on drawing ourselves as part of the annual #ContinuousLineSelfie challenge.
It’s fun, a little scary, occasionally hilarious, and deeply rewarding. This is an opportunity to look closely, loosen up, have fun with the process, and notice your line getting stronger as the month progresses. The secret is to not get too attached to the results, because sometimes we are monsters and sometimes we are models, and that's part of the magic.
Yes, drawing yourself can feel intimidating at first. But like anything else, it gets easier with practice.
This challenge is open to all skill levels and all mediums. Share your drawings in the Continuous Line Storytelling Facebook group or on Instagram using the hashtag: #ContinuousLineSelfie

Meagan Burns is an artist, instructor, and founder of Art Leap Adventures. She has been teaching continuous line drawing since 2021 and has built an international community of artists who want to loosen up, draw with more confidence, and stop letting perfectionism run the show.
Originally from Chicago and now based in Mexico City, Meagan leads online drawing classes and in-person sketch workshops in places like Mexico City, Oaxaca, San Miguel de Allende, San Francisco, and Paris.
Her approach is simple: draw often, draw honestly, and don’t get too precious about the results. Continuous line drawing helps artists build skill, trust their hand, and find their own visual voice without copying someone else’s style. The annual #ContinuousLineSelfie challenge is one of Meagan’s favorite ways to help artists face the page, face themselves, and have some fun in the process.
