Join artist/instructor/workshop creator Meagan Burns on a half-day workshop in creating a continuous line practice in order to strengthen one's line confidence. Meagan has been producing and teaching workshops since 2017, and has hosted workshops in several Mexican destination cities including Mexico City, Oaxaca, Guanajuato, Sayulita and San Miguel de Allende, now she's bringing it home to the USA to help spread the positive message of continuous lining -- a game changer when incorporated into your daily practice!
In this half-day workshop, we'll gather at ARCH Art Supplies on Saturday, June 22, at 10am for a brief introduction, some warm-up exercise to strengthen your line confidence, then a series of timed short sketches with time for review, #CLUSKing (continuous line urban sketching) of the area, then we'll finish big with a sketch throw down.
The Continuous Line practice is a "supplemental drawing practice much like vitamins", and nothing about Meagan's workshops are tips nor instruction to draw like Meagan nor anyone else; it's about leaning into one's personal style of line making no matter what the medium. A continuous line practice will improve one's abilities in such mediums as direct watercolor, sculpting, printmaking; mediums Meagan personally works with, and her skills improved as her daily continuous line practice persevered.
Whether you've been an artist for years or you're just beginning, this profoundly simple yet powerful practice will catapult your drawing ability and Meagan will share proven tips and techniques to help you succeed in this drawing practice.
